MESSAGE TO A LOVED ONE

If you have a relative who has been admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead and you would like to send them a message, letter or photograph, please send it by email to: ghnt.messagetoalovedone@nhs.net

Please can letters, messages or photographs be a maximum of one A4 side of paper per day. The Patient Experience Team will try their best to ensure that all patients receive their messages Monday-Friday.

If you do not have access to email and would still like to send your loved one a short message, please telephone 0191 445 6047 or 0191 445 6129 between 10am and 12pm, Monday to Friday.

To make sure we get to the right person we also need you to include:

  • the patient's name
  • the ward number or name
  • either the date of birth or the address of the patient

Covid-19

Vaccination status 

If you have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and need to demonstrate your vaccination status for travel, you can access your vaccine status via: 

It may take more than a week for your identity to be checked and verified so you can use these services.

If you cannot access these online services, and you are fully vaccinated, you can request a paper letter from the NHS by calling 119. Only call 119 if you had your second dose more than 7 days ago. It may take 5 working days for the letter to arrive.

The practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status.

When you're planning travel, check the latest information on demonstrating your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad on the gov.uk website. Make sure there is time to get proof of your vaccination status before you leave.
