eConsult

In line with guidance from Public Health England regarding coronavirus , we are not currently offering the option to book face to face appointments online.

You can book in for a telephone triage consultation, a member of the team will then contact you and only book you an appointment at the surgery if necessary.

Thank you for your co-operation at this time.

Appointmentspen_on_diary

You can make an appointment with the surgery at any point during our normal opening hours:

  • By phone - call 0191 487 6129
  • In person - at the reception desk.
  • Online - The fastest way to book and manage your appointments

We normally allow appointments to be booked  up to 6 weeks in advance and offer various appointment times throughout the week as per our opening times page. You may request to see the GP of your choice but this may result in you waiting longer than usual for an appointment. If you wish to be seen sooner you are free to make an appointment with any other GP at the practice.  Appointment are in high demand, sign up to our free text reminder service to help reduce missed appointments.

Please read our DNA/Failure to attend policy

Emergency/Urgent Appointments (also known as Same Day Access)

These appointments are available on a daily basis, they are limited and may not be with your normal GP of choice.  You may be asked to provide a reason for requesting an emergency appointment to prevent the system being misused.

Telephone Advice

It is not always necessary to make an appointment to see a GP.  You may just wish to receive advice about an immediate health issue or a medication prescribed to you.

If you would like telephone advice please give the receptionist your details. These will be passed on to the relevant healthcare professional who will call you back when they become free.

Practice nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. We would ask you to inform the member of the reception the reason for your appointment to ensure that the appointment is directed to the appropriate member of the nursing team.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
